Mother Goose on the Loose™ is an award-winning early-literacy program created by Betsy Diamant-Cohen for children (ages 0-36 months) and their parents or caregivers. The program combines music, movement, visual literacy, and language development to help children get ready to read. Even more important, it helps young children get ready for school by learning how to focus and concentrate, learning social skills like taking turns, learning how to express emotions, and by encouraging a love for learning that will ensure their success throughout future school experiences.
Parents, too, will benefit from the program. Mother Goose on the Loose strives to strengthen parents as the primary nurturers of their children by increasing parent knowledge of child development, helping parents improve their own literacy skills, alerting parents to the resources available at the library, and emphasizing that a parent is the child’s first and best teacher.
When can I come? Mother Goose on the Loose is every Thursday morning at 10:00am at the Marion Library. Bring your baby or toddler and join us as we have fun while learning!
