Library News

Changes are underway at your local library – read all about them right here!

Marion: The Marion Library (headquarters) is updating its appearance and spaces.  New reading tables have brightened the periodicals area, and we’ve created a space just for young adults. Our youngest patrons can enjoy a new Early Literacy Station. We’ve also rearranged a few areas as part of an ongoing plan to update and refresh our collections of books, audiobooks, and DVDs. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please ask for help at the circulation desk.

Mullins: Over in Mullins, a new shelf is on the way for the children’s room – we have so many children’s books that we need more places to put them! We also have a checkerboard set up in the computer room and Connect Four in the children’s area – stop in for a quick game.

Nichols: Yes, Nichols! Over the holidays, staff and board members joined forces to unbox all materials as we prepare to reopen Nichols. Generous donations from multiple sources have helped us update the children’s room with beanbags and other furnishings, refresh the adult collections, and brighten the space. Staff are working hard to put the finishing touches in place, and a search is underway for new staff members.

Throughout the system, we are looking for ways to improve and expand our services to you. DVDs are easier to browse, and you’ll find games and other activities on tables as well as regularly updated displays. And we now hold special events for children and families every month. Visit us to experience all we have to offer!
